The Pierre-Ayot Award was created in 1996 by the Ville de Montréal in partnership with the Contemporary Art Galleries Association (AGAC). It promotes excellence in emerging visual arts in Montreal, supports the presentation of young artists’ work in Montreal galleries and artist-run centres, and recognizes the efforts of arts organizations that support artists at the early stages of their careers.
The award includes a $ 7,500 grant and a budget of $ 2,500 for the promotion and organization of an solo exhibition in Montreal. The Ville de Montréal also acquires a work by the winner for its municipal art collection.
The call for applications is closed. The next call will begin in August 2027.
Deadline to submit files The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, November 25, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Espace Transmission in Montreal. You can reserve a ticket online here.
